A: Westchester has a large variety of wedding venues to any bride and any budget. However, there are quite a few wedding venues around Westchester that are truly amazing. So how would you go about choosing the right one? Well, my recommendation for you is to start with setting your wedding budget. The best of Westchester wedding venues tend to be costly, so starting with your finances is the best way to start your wedding planning process. Decide on what you can realistically afford without stretching yourself to thin. After all, your venue is only a portion of your overall wedding budget. You still need money for your catering –if the venue doesn’t provide the food, photography, hair & makeup, flowers & decor, transportation, your honeymoon, and all the other things that come with a wedding. once your budget is set, start thinking about what fits your personality the best, what's going to give you’re the wedding you’ve always dreamed of and what is most important to you. After you've taken all of that into consideration, look at the Top 10 Westchester wedding venues that I've curated in the list below.
A: Yes, Wedding in Westchester can get expensive - quickly. With that said, there are always things you can do to stay within your budget. One thing I must stress is that you should not stretch your budget so far on a wedding venue that you can't afford the other things that mean a lot to you. Take photography for example - If you really want a great Westchester wedding photographer that might cost $5000-7000, but your venue costs $25,000-30,000 making your budget very thigh, choosing a similar venue that is a few thousand less now opens that extra budget for the Westchester wedding photographer that you've always wanted. And if you feel like the Westchester wedding venues you are looking at are stretching you too much, you should consider getting married in areas like Long Island, The Hudson Valley or Connecticut. There are many, many amazing wedding venues in the New York / Connecticut area. I can definitely point you in the right direction if you need help finding the right wedding venue for you, your personality, and your budget. Just use the contact form on my website to contact me.
A: This totally depends on your wedding venue; some wedding venues in Westchester offer you a bridal suite for you and your bridal party to get dressed while others do not. The biggest thing to consider (as related to photography and video), is choosing a location that has a lot of room, nice décor, and natural light. Think big windows. So, do not get ready in a conference room or super dimly lit hotel room. Invest in the upgrade to a suite with a view, and a room that has lots of extra space. That space will be quickly taken up by your bridal party, your parents, your hair & makeup team, your friends, and all the bags of clothing, shoes, and accessories that you're bringing with you. Then, you need enough space to hide all those things so that your wedding photographer and videographer can have a clean, minimalistic backdrop to the photographs and film. All of these things don't happen by accident. There's usually a "trash corner" just out of view from the gorgeous wedding photographs you see all through my website and blog. :) If your venue doesn't offer you a bridal suite, I highly recommend checking out the Hotels near your venue
A: The cool thing about Westchester weddings and Westchester venues, is that they offer plenty of amazing locations for your wedding photography. Venues such as Country Clubs, Mansions, or Hotels offer – for the most part - beautiful grounds and architecture that will create stunning backdrops for your photos, so going to an off-site location is not always necessary.
A: This a very important and popular question when planning a Westchester wedding and it all depends! If your ceremony and reception at the same location, then there's not much you need to do. However, if you are having different locations for getting ready, the ceremony and the reception the answer to hire a limo or party bus. The limo will pick you up at your hotel/getting ready location, then drive you to the ceremony or portrait location(s) if you are having a first look, then take you to the reception. Yes, this adds some additional cost, but it reduces the level of stress tenfold. But as I said there are lots of amazingly gorgeous wedding venues around Westchester and Connecticut that you won't need anything like this. Just let me know what you are searching for, and I can totally help you.
A: Everything comes to your personality and what is important to you. If you want a stress-free, laid-back wedding, don’t get fixated in dollar number for your expected budget. I know and understand budgets are important, but compromising and investing in the things that make you happy go a long way. Find a venue that aligns with your personality, find a photographer that has the style and personality that matches you. After all, it's your day and a once-in-a-lifetime event.
